The primary currency of the Empire
The Crown is equivalent to T&T’s silver pieces, but unlike in T&T, it is the only piece of currency and instead holds internal numerical denomination, much like that of a dollar.
Currency in the Empire is that of the Crown: small, steel rings like that of a wedding band, marked with the king’s seal and denomination. In the Empire, things like gold and silver do not hold the same type of value as they would in our world. Steel is valuable due to its complexity to make and its inherent qualities as a practical material. For instance, in times of war, Crowns are rationed (or taxed) and melted down to create armor. As such, things are not held on the gold standard, but on the steel standard.
